Wulfenite

Specimen # 200295
Mineral: Wulfenite
Location: Red Cloud Mine, Trigo Mountains, La Paz Co., Arizona, US
Size: 3.1 x 2.6 x 1.9 cm

Description

This specimen features a 2.1 cm deep reddish-orange wulfenite crystal with other associated wulfenite crystals. A second parallel-growth crystal group below the main one measures 2 cm – this wulfenite is included, so that the colour is a mixed brown and red-orange. In excellent condition, a couple of small chips, most need magnification to see. The main crystal has great transparency for the Red Cloud. Collected by Bryan Lees’ mining team when they worked the project from 1999 to 2002, this is a  beautiful specimen from the Steve Szilard collection.
