The green in this one is so deep that the crystal looks almost black, but examination under strong light reveals its true colour and translucence. Singly terminated crystal, and nice all the way around - no damage except irrelevant chipping at the base on what I consider the back (assuming that the angle of the first photos is the front). The lustre is nice - I've included the second photo to help show that. The great termination makes this piece – includes some horizontally striated faces around the back (fourth photo).

Nice size for the price - it has become so tough to acquire excellent quality decent-sized elbaites without paying a ton of money. They are now most often priced at source by the gram weight or carat weight (even when not remotely gem-quality – drives me nuts!), so size just becomes prohibitive unless you are lucky enough that money is no object to you.
